Moody, calming, sometimes feral
Some paintings whisper. Some create a deep bond. Mine tend to do both. I am inspired by the landscapes, creatures, and quiet moments of Western North Carolina, scenes meant to be felt as much as seen. Welcome.
Asheville Area
6”x8” original, oil on linen panel. Painted plein air on an early spring day in Asheville. Option available for a gorgeous, locally-made wood frame.
8”x10” original oil on linen panel, mounted in gold float frame. Painted plein air in Alexander, northwest of Asheville, looking south. I love the carving of texture that unfolds in farmlands. I love farms. I am certain I would not make a good farmer, hence my appreciation. I also love that farmland often looks much like it looked ages ago. Bless you, farmers. Bless you.
6”x8” original. Oil on canvas, in a beautiful wood frame with gold details. One of the gems of North Asheville Beaver Lake, offers walkers and paddlers and birders and all a chance to get some time in by a lake. On the south side, there is an Audubon Society boardwalk. Over 200 species of birds have been spotted!
8”x10” original, painted as part of the inaugural Montford Plein Air Festival. Oil on stretched linen canvas, this was truly a magical creation. Standing gingerly among early Ashevillians in Riverside Cemetery, the dogwoods sang a song of hope this spring morning. Beautiful vintage and modern frame options available.
12”x36” original, acrylic on 1.5” deep panel. Ready to hang or frame. Featured at Golden Hour in The Radical Hotel as part of their “Spring Equinox” show. (My most favorite Golden is a sprite also called Winnie.)
16”x20” original acrylic on canvas panel and framed in a vintage frame. Western NC has been the location for numerous movies. Part of the reason is scenes like these- winding roads, rolling hills, and gorgeous, untouched mountains as far as the eye can see.
